You’ve seen it in the headlines. From the United States experiencing deadly heatwaves and hurricanes to flooding in Europe, wildfires in Siberia and catastrophic typhoons in Asia. There’s no denying that the weather has been extreme over the recent months and it’s expected to get worse.

Climate Change is Real

Climate change is real and it’s a serious crisis affecting everyone in the globe. One organization dedicated in tackling, climate crisis, which perhaps is the greatest challenge of out time, is the Woodwell Climate Research Center (formerly known as the Woods Hole Research Center).

The Woodwell Climate Research Center

In the early 1980’s, there has been very little talk about climate change. But Woodwell Climate Research Center was right away leading the charge. Since it was established in 1985, it has already focused in doing research on the realities of climate change and its impacts everywhere on the planet. They also help in educating communities and nations about the climate crisis and its effects and calling on everyone to take urgent action that’ll help secure not only the future of the human race, but life as we know it on this planet.

Here are a few more facts about Woodwell that highlights their dedication in solving climate change. In 1992, the United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change was launched with the help of scientists of Woodwell Climate Research Center. In 2007, Woodwell scientists received the Nobel Prize awarded to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and 2 Woodwell presidents were given science advisory positions in the White House. It's also worth noting that for 4 years, the International Center for Climate Governance has awarded Woodwell the top climate change think tank in the world!

Unsung Modern Day Heroes

The people behind Woodwell Climate Research Center are unsung modern day heroes. From tirelessly working on the ground to do research and come up with science-based solutions to working with governments to ensure that the policies and decisions on climate are made based on world-class climate research.

The Legend Bracelet Proudly Supports Woodwell

Incredibly, the Woodwell Climate Research Center is not in any way government funded. They are self-funded and rely on donations to help support their research on climate change. The Legend Bracelet proudly supports the crucial and important work of Woodwell scientists and staff. The Arctic Legend Bracelet was created to help spread awareness about the climate crisis we are facing.  One of the capsules of the bracelet contains permafrost from a sample that the scientists from Woodwell Climate Research Center are studying. We donate 12% of the Arctic bracelet’s total profit directly to Woodwell.

Through the Arctic Legend Bracelet, you too can show your support to the Woodwell’s enormous mission of solving the climate crisis and sustaining life on Earth!
